You are able to assign specific roles to an address book object for an event. This allows you to see what part each contact or company is playing in this event, and also filter which company or contact will be pulled into your reports or forms.
The list of roles for each address book object type(company, contact (person), artist, and venue) can be customized for your venue.
Adding a Role to an Address Book Object
To add a role to an address book object which is already applied to an event, go to the event details page and click the paper/pencil icon by the address book object header.
Choose the role from the drop down list and click Save.
The role will appear in parenthesis following the address book object's name.
Please note that you can only add one role to each entry. If an address book object has two roles, you will need to apply the ABO to the event twice, adding a different role each time.
Adding a New Address Book Object and a Role to an Event
If you have not applied the address book object to the event yet, you can add the role at as you apply the ABO. Go the the event details page and click Add by the address book object header for the type of ABO you would like to apply.
In the pop up, select the role from the drop down list.
Search for the address book object by typing the name in the search box, or click create new to add a new ABO to your address book.
Once you have entered the role and selected the address book object, click Add.
Your new address book object and its role has been applied to your event.
Removing or Change an Address Book Object's Role
To remove or change the role applied to an address book object, click the paper/pencil icon by the address book object header for the type of ABO you would like to edit.
Choose the new role from the list, or to remove a role select None. Click Save.
The role will updated or removed.
