Many pages allow you to create custom default views. These custom default views will load for your users rather than the Momentus Elite system default views. Default views can be assigned to specific roles, so you can have a default sales view, a default ops view, etc. A different default view can be created for each of the following pages:
- Events Calendar (Month / Grid / Day)
- Avails Calendar
- Events List
- Functions List
- Accounts List
- Contacts List
- Event Details Detailing Tab
- Operations
- Activity Log
If a user does not have access to one of the venues in a view, they will be able to use the view, but events in that venue will not appear.
For some strategies for using saved views effectively, please see Custom Saved Views.
Each saved view is "owned" by its creator. If the owner's user account is deactivated, the saved view is no longer shown in the application and the ical feed is unpublished. This behavior is to ensure data security. To keep critical saved views, they must be copied to a new owner. See Copy a Saved View for instructions.

Create a new view as a default
- Click the + plus icon to open the Create View slider.
- Type a name for the view.
- Uncheck Private (viewable only by me). The Give Access To field will appear.
- Select the roles you want this view to be the default for.
- Check Default view.
- We also recommend checking Locked so no one can edit the default view by accident. To make changes to a locked view, you will first need to unlock it.
- Click Save.
Make an existing view a default
- Select the view you want to make a default.
- Click the settings gear icon to open the View Settings slider.
- Click the edit pencil icon to open the Edit View slider.
- Make sure Private is unchecked and the correct roles are selected. After following these steps, this view will be the default for all selected roles.
If a role has multiple default views for the same page, the earliest one set to be a default will be the actual default view for the role. It's best to avoid setting multiple defaults for a single role.
- Check Default view. (If Private is checked, you will need to uncheck it.)
- We also recommend checking Locked so no one can edit the default view by accident. To make changes to a locked view, you will first need to unlock it.
- Click Save.
