Event tags allow you to assign properties or attributes to an event which are not handled by the specific event type, genre, or business classification fields. Tags can also be used to track additional workflow steps which are not covered by event, contract, or function status. Event tags are available in reports and dashboards, giving you additional reporting metrics.
Some possible event tags include:
- Concessions Only
- Hourly Parking
- Ready for Review
- Contract in Negotiation
- Open to Public
- Show on Website

Add Event Tags
Event tags are added on the Events page in the Tags tab. Click the plus to add a tag, or click a tag to edit it. Step-by-step instructions are linked below.
Tag an Event
Tag an event as you book it or tag existing events using the Edit General Information slider on either the event details page or the summary slider. Once tags are added they'll display on both the event details page Overview tab and the summary slider in the header.
Use Event Tags
Event tags will appear in various places.
In the Events List, there is a column listing all of an event's tags. You are also able to filter the list by tag. Those changes can be saved to custom views, thus creating quick reports. In the default view, the tag column is the last column on the right before the staff assignments (it was moved for this screenshot).
Tags can be displayed on the calendar (you may choose which tags to display). Calendar views may also be filtered by tag.
Tags can also be used in Insights reports and dashboards.
Tag Best Practices
At this time we do not have limitations on tags, but we do have some recommendations to use them thoughtfully:
- There is no limit on the number of tags that can be created. Do be thoughtful of the tags you create, though. Have your tags reflect meaningful processes or be helpful clues to illustrate what is happening.
- There is no limit on the number of tags which can be added to an event. Do be thoughtful of how many tags you add to an event. This goes back to making the most meaningful tags. If there are too many assigned tags, you will run into display limitations in the application.
- There is no character limit for tags, although only 1024 characters will be included in reports. Do keep tags short and concise, if possible, so you don't run into display limitations.
