This article will walk you through applying task templates to events:
Apply Task Templates When Booking an Event or Series
You are able to select task templates to be applied to the event as you book it. If there are templates you will be applying to most of your events, you can set them as defaults. For more information, please see Set a Default Task Template.
- While you are in the process of adding an event or a series, click in the Task Templates field.
- Select any templates that you want to apply to your new event. If you are booking a series, the template will be applied to all events you are booking.
- Click away from the field. The selected templates will be listed.
When you finish creating the event, the tasks in all selected templates will be added to the new event(s). To view all tasks across events in a series, go to the Series Event Tasks tab.
Some notes:
- Only top-level tasks from the template will be added to the event. Dependent tasks won't be created until their parent task is marked complete.
- Any tasks assigned to event staff assignments will remain unassigned until the event staff assignment is designated on the event. If the event staff assignment designation on the event is changed, the task will automatically be reassigned (as long as it has not been completed).
Apply Task Templates on the Event or Series Details Page
- On the event or series details page, go to the Tasks tab.
- Click the view_list template icon to open the Apply Task Templates slider.
- Click in the Task Templates field and select the templates you want to apply to your event.
- If you are on the Series Event Tasks tab, choose which events in the series this template should be applied to.
- Click Save.
The tasks in all selected templates have been added to the event(s). Some notes:
- Only top-level tasks from the template will be added to the event. Dependent tasks won't be created until their parent task is marked complete.
- Any tasks which depend on a time to calculate their due date/time will not be created until that information exists: for example, if the task is due one hour before the announce date/time, the task will be created once the announce date/time is added to the event.
- Any tasks assigned to event staff assignments will remain unassigned until the event staff assignment is designated on the event.
